About La Romana.

La Romana, a pretty Village is a municipality of the Valencian Community, Spain. Located in the interior of the province of Alicante, in the region of Vinalopó Medio. The main economic sector of the municipality is the extraction and transformation of marble, like other municipalities in the region such as Novelda, Algueña or Pinoso.

It also highlights the agricultural sector (production and packaging of grapes, with the designation of origin Vinalopó bagged table grapes, almond and olive plantations). In this village, you will have all the services and amenities such as coffee shops, restaurants & bars, a Saturday Street market where you can buy locally grown vegetables and fresh fish. There is also a school a medical centre and two pharmacies and the main hospital is in Elda just 20 minutes’ drive away and 24-hour clinics in Novelda and Aspe. For golf lovers there are two excellent golf courses Font de Llop in Aspe and Alenda Golf in Monforte del Cid which is just a 15 minutes’ drive away.  The beaches and Alicante Airport are close by, and the cinema in perter is only a 10-minute drive away.

The region is renowned for the growing of eating grapes and also producing a wide range of wines which can be sampled in the traditional bars along with many different tasty local tapas and you can also visit the many Bodegas that are closely to the Town.
