UNDER OFFER!!A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A STUNNING HOME AND A BUSINESS LOCATED IN THE STUNNING NATIONAL PARK OF SIERRAS DE CAZOLA.
This property is totally reformed sitting close to Segura and Las Villas in the Jaen province surrounded by the largest protected Nature Reserve in Spain and is run off grid.
Cortijo La Solana, a centuries old Andalusian farmhouse, lies sheltered against a mountainside at about 1200 metres altitude in the untouched green heart of the largest national park in Spain, “Sierra de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas”. The house is surrounded by walnut trees and as far as the eye can see there are green mountain slopes with gall oaks, pine trees and junipers. Sheep and goats tinkle through the valley with a well that supplies cool drinking water.
La Solana consists of a comfortable main house, three guest houses suitable for renting out, plus a spacious multifunctional studio. Total constructed surface 365m², plus more than one and a half hectare (3.7 acres) of arable land, water from a well and a natural swimming-pond. From the main road, a solid dirt road (apr. 300m) leads to the house. As far as the eye can see there are green mountains, no other houses in sight but at 10 min. Walking distance is a bar-restaurant and a small rural school (at this moment 6 pupils), which also accommodates a community centre and an astronomy observatory.
The traditional Andalusian farmhouse with its thick natural stone walls has been converted into a comfortable home with high quality materials, while the original atmosphere and style have been preserved. The ground floor, with traditional terracotta tiles, consists of a large attractive living room with open kitchen, sitting area with fireplace and mezzanine.Next to it is a salon with a big fireplace. From there a few steps up lead to a small office with a nice view over the valley. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with toilet and shower and a storage-room.On the first floor is the mezzanine, two bedrooms with wooden floors and a bathroom with toilet and bath. From the kitchen French windows opens on to a sheltered terrace with a summer kitchen on the southside of the house. At the front lies another terrace, with a small pool, in the shade of a majestic 100 year old walnut tree. The house is completely off-grid: it is fitted with a wood stove that runs a central heating system, the water comes from a well situated up the mountain, six solar panels and three powerful lithium batteries and a 5000 W converter supplies electricity (220 v) with a Honda generator as back-up .
The former sheep and donkey stables have been converted into 3 attractive apartments suitable for renting out or additional accommodation for friends and family
The first one has a spacious living room/kitchen with a wood burning stove, two comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower.
The second has a cosy living room/kitchen a comfortable bedroom and a bathroom also an attic which could accommodate one or two children the terrace area here has stunning views
The third, the former donkey stable, has been converted into a 2 person apartment with a living room/ kitchen on the ground floor and above a spacious bedroom along with a bathroom with a shower.
Apart from the main house and the three apartments there is a further studio 7 by 7.5m it has a wooden floor and two windows. It is currently used as a sound studio as roof walls and floors are well isolated, this is a bright open space suitable for many purposes. It has a wood burning stove, its own bathroom with a shower and connections are in place for a kitchen if desired.
The Sierra de Las Villas, where the house is located, is the least known and also most virgin part of the Reserve. In this nature park with its high mountain ridges flows the Guadalquivir, Andalusia’s longest river. With its rough plateaus and green valleys, spectacular waterfalls, crystal clear streams and water basins, this unspoiled area is a paradise with rich flora and fauna. The views are breathtaking and on a clear day you can see the snow covered peaks of the Sierra Nevada. At a distance of one hour are the monumental cities Ubeda and Baeza, with beautiful inner cities where its palaces and stately squares in Renaissance style reflect a rich history. Both cities are on the Unesco world list of Cultural Heritage.
