Cueva Carol is a charming, quirky cave house that is full of character. The property is situated in a quiet residential cave neighbourhood of the historic town of Cúllar. This “cave townhouse” has a gated veranda and a large open rooftop terrace with great views of the town and surrounding hills. There is street parking 50m away.

The design of this cave house is circular. You arrive in a sunny entrance hall/dining area and sunlit kitchen. There is a guest WC to the left. Straight ahead, are two doorways: the doorway to the right takes you to a cosy snug with a wood burner, then you pass through an curiously shaped room with two entrances. This room can be a wardrobe or a single bedroom. You exit the 2nd entrance into a pretty double bedroom and then into the salon which circles back around to the entrance hall. To the right of the salon is the full bathroom with both a shower and a tub. The salon and bathroom have underfloor heating, which is a delightful treat. From the living room you enter the side veranda with stone inlay walls and a floor-to-ceiling decorative gate with view onto the street. A staircase takes you up to the spacious rooftop terrace with 180° views of the town.

The living room and bedrooms are pure cave while the entrance, kitchen, bathrooms and veranda are outbuild. The cave walls have been built in a curvy style with both smooth and textured finish. The terrace floors are fully tiled, as are the stairs, veranda, living room, guest bathroom, entrance and kitchen. The snug and bedroom floors have a traditional finish of concrete that has been polished and painted.

The town of Cúllar is located at the intersection between the small towns of Huescar and Velez Rubio and the city of Baza. Cúllar is known for its excellent restaurants and as a commercial and agricultural hub including a veterinary clinic. The town has a beautiful community park complex with two swimming pools. The small city of Baza is a 20 minute drive with large supermarkets and the regional hospital. Granada is 1h20 minutes away. The property is 35 minutes from the stunning Lake Negratin with its hot spring spa. The region is surrounded by several mountain ranges, great for hiking and mountain biking.
