Algarinejo
This attractive village is located within the Granada province of Andalusia but it is actually very close to the border with Cordoba and not far from the Malaga province. This means you have great access to all the major cities within Andalucia and the nearest larger town of Iznajar, famous for its lake and beaches.
Algarinejo is a hidden gem which, although not large, boasts a good range of cafés, bars and restaurants including some of very high quality.
The facilities in the village make for a comfortable life with 3 restaurants, 1 large supermarket and various smaller shops dotted around the village. There is a large furniture/ household shop, an electrical appliance shop, mobile phone/internet shop, a medical centre, 3 banks and daily bread/fish deliveries.
The region is well known for olive production and this is a village that thrives off farming so it is not a village that sleeps during the winter. This is a village you can enjoy the whole year round.
The local church is well worth a visit as is the local waterfall known as the Aroyo Seco – a great place to take visitors.
This village is not well known but once you know it, you’ll love it!
