The cortijo is set down a track in a small hamlet between Fuensanta de Martos and Castillo de Locubín. One house has been reformed and now offers a fully fitted kitchen, a sitting-room and bathroom on the upper floor and 2 en-suite bedrooms on the lower floor. There are various heating options including 2 wood burning stoves, 2 pellet stoves and several electric infrared radiators. The second house has a dozen rooms across 3 levels and needs to reformed, though one bedroom with en-suite shower room and the roof have already been reformed. Both houses could easily be connected in several places to create one large property if you wished, or kept separate if you wanted to run it as a B&B or country retreat.
Amongst the many outside spaces, you have a swimming pool of 4 x 10 sqm which is operable with either chlorine or salt and equipped with a solar shower. It has stunning views and a shaded area under a wrought-iron pergola. There are also garden areas and a vegetable patch.
The outbuilding is a 40 sqm terrace of which 2/3 is covered, offering outdoor dining and summer kitchen area, with gas hubs, oven/barbecue, sink, cupboards, large table, and fridge and freezer. Underneath this terrace are 3 rooms, currently housing an office, a gym, and a shower room.
The garage has a mezzanine level for extra storage.
Mains water and electricity are connected, plus there is the bonus of a water softening system too. There is also a 30-cubic-meter water tank fed by rain water (collected through the gutters) and connected to an automatic watering system for the plants and garden. The property has around 150 olive trees as well as various fruit trees, including almond and fig.
The towns of Castillo de Locubín and Fuensanta de Martos, with full amenities, including bars, shops, banks and pharmacies, are just 15 minutes away and the larger towns of Alcaudete and Martos are just 30 mins away.

Fuensanta de Martos is small town situated to the south of the province, in the southern mountains, in a landscape of soft hills covered with olive trees. It is the biggest producer of olive oil in the province. The town shares history with the surrounding towns and villages including Alcalá la Real, Martos and Alcaudete. It was a Christian outpost in the definitive assault of the Kingdom of Granada, which is its most important historical moment. In 1847 it became independent from Martos by a Royal Warrant of Emancipation signed by Queen Isabel II. It is steeped in history and holds many fiestas throughout the year.
Castillo de Locubín is a pueblo blanco or white village, so named for the white-washed external walls of the houses. It is located in the foothills of the Sierra Sur. The 16th-century church is dedicated to St Peter the Apostle. Castillo main local crafts are pottery and ceramics. During the first week in June, a cherry fair to celebrate the Cherry harvest is held, with competitions for the best liqueurs, desserts and cuisine based on cherry. Castillo is 11 kilometers north of Alcalá la Real and 2 km from the N432 main road.
