In these laundries, the women would gather to wash clothes and share stories and laughter. Visiting these laundries will transport you to past times and allow you to appreciate the simplicity and authenticity of rural life. Very close to the laundries is the Church of the Virgin of Carmen, a sacred place that has been a center of devotion and spiritual encounter for the community of Sileras over the years. This church, is a symbol of faith and a reference point in the village. The Virgin of Carmen, patron saint of sailors and protector of those who dedicate themselves to the sea, is revered here with devotion and love. In addition to its historical and religious wealth, Sileras will captivate you with its natural dream environment. Surrounded by mountains, this village offers you the opportunity to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the rural environment. The closest airport is Granada which is around 1 hour away or the larger Malaga airport is around 1h30.
