The town of Sucina is very popular due to its exposure on the famous A Place In The Sun programmes and also because it offers good value for money. Although the town is situated inland it has easy access to the motorway leading to San Javier, Murcia, Alicante and Cartagena. The town itself is set around a lovely church with a few bars and a choice of local and international restaurants. There are two supermarkets, two banks, a chemist, bakers, doctors, dentist and an excellent Spanish school and nursery run by nuns. The nearest hospital is Los Arcos which has an excellent reputation and is only 5 minutes drive down the motorway. There is a bus service into Murcia city and also down to the coast. For golfers both Peraleja Golf Resort and Hacienda Riquelme golf resort are only a few minutes drive away and can be seen from parts of Sucina. The town is surrounded by mountains and agricultural land and is an ideal area for keen walkers, runners and cyclists. The mayor of Sucina is very good at organizing events throughout the year to keep those that like a bit of social life and Spanish culture happy. There are quite a few british people that live here permanently and have holiday homes.
