Santiago de Calatrava in Jaen is an attractive little town surrounded by olive groves to the west of the province. With less than 1,000 in habitants, except in the summer months when many return to the family house to escape the heat of summer in the larger towns and cities. Its less than 40 km from Jaen City, one hour 30 will have you in Granada at either the airport or the Sierra Nevada Ski resort and one hour 45 will have you at Malaga and the airport.
