Lovely 3 Bedroom Country house in La Romana.
This lovely country house has great views across the valley of La Romana and the mountainside behind. Peace and quiet for the lovers of nature, without being isolated.
You enter the grounds via double gates to a patio area in front of the house, where there is a shady area for sitting. Entering into the living room that has a wood burning stove and an air conditioning unit ( hot and cold), an archway leads onto a second living room with a high vaulted ceiling with beams, and a bread oven and wine bottle storage set into the wall. Leading on from here is a double bedroom, set in the cave part of the house, this has a constant temperature all year round. To the other side is a second double bedroom and a staircase to the mezzanine floor, either for storage or a third bedroom.
Back to the living room where we entered, is the doorway to the kitchen, fully equipped and with a huge open fireplace/ grill for Paella or BBQ, there is a pantry and door to the rear patio and bathroom. Off the patio is a second cave room, being used for storage just now.
Outside there is a lovely garden with mature trees and views over the valley and mountains.
All the plot is fenced, and above the house is a storage room and a pathway leading to a big terraced area for sitting, plus on to the pool which is 13m x 6m and has a pump and filter station underneath. . The views from the pool and terrace areas are very nice.
Opposite the house is another plot of land that also belongs to this one, here, there is parking for plenty of cars on the flat area and some olive trees.
There is a neighbour, so the house is not isolated, but it feels like you are in the countryside, yet only 5 minutes from the town of La Romana, and 30 minutes from Alicante.
La Romana is a pretty village, located in the foothills of the Sierra del Reclot and surrounded by vineyards, almonds and olive orchards. It is a mountainous area and there are several marble and limestone quarries in the area.
The village has a population of about 2,500 people and has a good selection of shops, bars and cafes. There is also an excellent Saturday market. La Romana has its own bodega, a co.operative, where the local vineyard owners bring their harvest. There is a large sports centre on the edge of the village with a large pool, tennis, Paddle Tennis and Basketball courts, a football pitch and indoor gym.
The town’s popular fiesta is held in the third week of August every year, which includes the traditional Moors and Christians parades on Friday and Saturday.
The village is close to the towns of Alguena, Novelda, Aspe and Hondon de las Nieves and is a 30 minute drive from Alicante airport and the closest beaches are a 40 minute drive away.
